What is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD):

FASD is an umbrella term describing the range of effects that can occur in an individual whose mother drank alcohol during pregnancy.  These effects may include physical, mental, behavioural and learning disabilities with lifelong implications.

FASD requires a medical diagnosis from an interdisciplinary assessment team. The Northwestern Ontario FASD Diagnostic Clinic has  Interdisciplinary Teams in both the Kenora and Rainy River Districts.
