Associative Living Support Program is a Treatment Foster Program or Staff Supported Foster Homes that serve children from Agencies within the Kenora and Rainy River Districts. With the present funding we are able to provide up to four foster beds. These beds can be located throughout the Kenora and Rainy River Districts, with foster parents that are trained in the management and care of developmentally delayed children.  Eligibility for placement in the program is determined by the Access Centre (Firefly).

These children and youth, up to the age of 18 years with a developmental disability as defined by the Child and Family Services Act, live in host family accommodation and need supports and assistance with activities of daily living. Services are delivered in accordance with the child’s quarterly Plan of Care, which outline specific goals and objectives for their care and treatment.

Other services include case management and referrals to local service providers to meet the needs of the children such as, Firefly (children’s mental health), Local Association for Community Living, Handi-Transit and the First Nations as appropriate.
